Vodka: The Household Cure-All
Put down that Bloody Mary! Vodka is a natural cleaning agent and more. Use it to green your routine at home.

Here are some tips for using vodka around the house. These ideas may help save you money, and prevent purchase and storage of dangerous, toxic, carcinogenic, pet and kid unfriendly chemicals around your home.
  • Rub lipstick stains with vodka, then throw into your regular wash.
  • Spray vodka on vomit stains, scrub with a brush, then blot dry.
  • The alcohol in vodka kills mold and mildew. Put it in a spray bottle & use as you would (toxic) shower cleaner to get the grime out of caulking around showers and tubs. Spray and let stand for five minutes for best results.
  • To remove a bandage painlessly, saturate the bandage with vodka. The solvent dissolves adhesive. It's also great if you want to remove a label from a plastic bottle you are planning to re-use.
  • My old jewelry cleaner was a known carcinogen that I was touching often! To clean your bling safely, soak jewelry in vodka for five minutes, rinse and dry.
  • Soak your razor blade in vodka. It disinfects the blade and prevents rusting.
  • Using a cotton ball, apply vodka as an astringent to cleanse your skin and tighten pores.
  • Add a jigger of vodka to a 12-ounce bottle of shampoo. The alcohol cleanses the scalp, removes toxins from hair, and stimulates the growth of healthy hair.
  • Fill a sixteen-ounce trigger-spray bottle and spray bees or wasps to kill them.
