    Introduction
Always health conscious, I diligently applied sunscreen but found reapplying it several times a day tedious, inconvenient and concerned about the chemicals. So I looked for alternative ways to protect themselves from harmful UV rays. I discovered UV Protective clothing but were disappointed in the limited options available to them.
Based on a medical model, most UV Protective clothing is designed strictly for outdoor exercise or is devoid of style. So I merged fashion sense with health awareness to create AYANA Apparel for women who want to maintain beauty and style while simultaneously protecting their skin.

The name AYANA was inspired by the "Amaranth" flower, a bloom in Greek mythology that never fades. Reflecting this longevity, AYANA's high quality fashionable UV-Protective apparel personifies the everlasting femininity, beauty and personal style of today's modern woman.
    Area's of Speciality
We are specialized in prevention. Smart, natural sun protection for women.
    Products/Services Offered
AYANA offers stylish, natural sun protective clothing for everyday wear. Why do we need protection from UV rays? There are both positive and negative effects of sun exposure. We need sunlight to help our body synthesize vitamin D, assimilate calcium and increase the secretion of melatonin - the "feel-good" hormone - among other basic functions. However, overexposure to UVB and UVA rays is a virtual attack on the skin, damaging cells at every level. Overexposure to UVA and UVB can result in sunburn, premature aging and even malignant melanoma (skin cancer). Dermatologists report that 90% of premature aging and skin cancers are caused by too much sun exposure and have reached high reported levels in the U.S. Unfortunately, for most people, just 20 minutes can be enough time for sun damage to begin.

This does not mean you should never leave your house, but you do need to practice preventative measures for sun protection:
* Minimize exposure when the sun is at its peak
* Wear UV Protection clothing, including a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses and garments that have a certified UPF label.

AYANA is committed to sustainability:

- All our products are manufactured in Los Angeles, CA
- Oeko Tex Certified- no harmful substance used
- Keeps its carbon footprint to a bear minimum
- All our garments are UPF Certified
- Donates 5-10% of its revenues to selected skin cancer organizations www.ayanashop.com
