    Introduction

Health Counseling is a unique, exciting innovation in health and nutrition. As a Health Counselor, I have studied all the major dietary theories and will help you discover what approach works best for you at this point in your life.

While most dietitians dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins, restrictions and lists of good and bad foods, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline.

No one diet works for everyone. I will guide you to find the food and lifestyle choices that best support you. I will also help you to make gradual, lifelong changes that enable you to reach your current and future health goals.

    Area's of Speciality

I specialize in baby boomers who want to age gracefully and healthfully, but I can work with any age or gender to live a healthier, happier, and more productive life. Reaching and maintaining an ideal weight, achieving good eating habits, as well as a balanced lifestyle are primary objectives with my clients.

    Products/Services Offered

I provide 3, 4 and 6 month programs to clients, where my sessions are 50 minutes each, twice a month. I usually conduct my sessions virtually on the telephone, but can also meet in person in my office.

    Testimonials

Testimonial:

I am so impressed not only with your knowledge, but most of all, your warmth and understanding. I can't thank you enough for helping me make such dramatic changes in my health in such an easy and effective way. Your support and step by step approach has helped me lose weight without deprivation. I have more energy, exercise consistently and have more time for myself. I am thrilled that I made the decision to work wtih you in your program.   Testimonial:  What I really liked about working with you was our relaxed discussion covering different aspects of my challenges. In the course of my program you helped me to better define my goals, eat much more healthily, and most importantly, better understand my non-medical health needs, such as relaxation, self-nurturing, and stress reduction. Thank you so much for helping me to value myself enough to give myself the care, both physical and emotional, that I need and deserve. Debbi Wolf, author, professional volunteer, Fort Lee, NJ

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

Sauteed Arugula with Raisins and Hot Pepper

This makes a nice side dish or base on which to place baked fish or chicken.

Serves 2

2 bunches arugula leaves ( about 5 cups)

2 tsp extra virgin olive oil

1 tsp minced garlic

1/8 tsp hot red pepper flakes

3 tbs raisins or chopped dried apricots

Separate arugula leaves from long stems and roots, if attached. if leaves are more than several inches long, slice the in half. Wash leaves well and drain.

In a skillet, heat oil over low heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for 1 minute. Add raisins and saute for 2 minutes.

Stir in the arugula, cover, and cook over medium heat for 4-5 minutes, until tender. Greens will be soft, rather glossy, and deliciously succulent. Add a pinch of salt and serve hot or at room temperature.
