Introduction
Dr. Randi Shayne earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) degree at the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) located in Portland, OR. NCNM is the oldest accredited naturopathic medical college in North America. It is accredited by the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME), recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. She earned a B.A. in Biology at La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA.
As a graduate of NCNM Dr. Shayne is a highly trained primary care practitioner who specializes in natural medicine. Presently there is no licensing of naturopathic doctors in the state of Pennsylvania. As a natural health consultant she works with patients who seek diagnosis and care from licensed physicians, as naturopathy is an excellent complement to standard medical treatment. Dr. Shayne is a voting member of the Pennsylvania Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
Dr. Shayne's practice philosophy..WELLNESS EDUCATION IN MOTION, simply defined is the opposite of one-size-fits-all. With a non-judgmental manner respecting each patient's personal values she aids every patient on their individualized journey to restore cellular health and improve quality of life. As a facilitator for wellness she coaches patients to focus on health promotion by assessing needs, deciding on wellness goals and planning strategy to meet those goals. Areas of innovative and progressive holistic education include (but not limited to) diet/nutrition, detoxification, stress management, positive relationships and environmental awareness. Patients discover how to promote a greater level of calm, productivity and joy in their lives.
Dr. Randi Shayne has consulted with thousands of patients since 1982. For several years she worked directly with victims and survivors of sexual abuse. She has served as Patient Services Director at BeatCancer.org since 2000 and is expert at aiding patients in minimizing side effects of cancer treatment and recurrence of cancer. Dr. Shayne has been a guest lecturer at numerous medical schools, colleges and universities. She has coordinated and conducted countless workshops, seminars and conferences.
